For the past several years, my Parents have welcomed sweet President Monson to their theatre in Salt Lake City to almost every musical they have produced. (about four times a year) Everyone knows how much he adores theatre and the arts in general. The tradition has been that just moments before the show begins, President Monson is escorted in the theatre by way of the back door by his bodyguard so not to bring any further attention to himself. My parents are always there to welcome him to each show and enjoy a slice of my Aunt Sherrie's famous peach pie with him privately during intermission.
Whenever I am in town at the same time my parents are sure to let me know when he will be attending a show. I have been fortunate to be his escort a couple of times for the performance. I can't tell you how hard it is for me not to ask him every question that's been on my mind knowing I can receive better clarification and insight on certain things, but I somehow refrain so he can enjoy his evening. I will never forget the first time I sat with him. At the end of the show as he slipped out the back door before the final curtain call, we all said our good-bye's. Taking me by the hand, he pulled me aside and said, "Jessica, I must say your Husband is a pretty lucky guy...and that's coming from an old Sailor!" I have to admit this caught me off guard completely, yet his flattering words will always stay with me. Isn't that completely in his character though? He enjoys life to the fullest which is manifested so clearly in his countenance and joyful eyes. He relates so specifically to individuals and their life experiences. Because of this, he has always been my favorite speaker sharing real stories of real people with real trials and triumphs. A favorite motto I like to live my life by is one of his:

peach pie with the Prophet
"The past is behind, learn from it.
The future is ahead, prepare for it.
The present is here, live it."

Cute story, Jess. When do you get to share another peach pie with him? If it's coming up I'd love to meet in the middle and hopefully see baby???
That's so awesome. he is such a good man, and your family is lucky to know him like few can.
Hi Jessica, I saw you through the Murray chain of blogs, this is Carrie Cook. Look how beautiful your family is...and look how many kids you have! Goodness your busy! It's so good to see you're doing well. Take good care!

My Jess!!! I have been thinking about you a lot lately and wondering how your are and WHERE you are. That is CRAZY you found me on here because I wanted to get in contact with you. I heard your mom and dad moved to Bountiful so I knew I just couldn't call them up anymore to ask for your number. :( It made me sad. How are you doing? It looks like you guys are great!! Your family is SO SO SO CUTE!!! Your girlies got your long thick pretty hair. I can't believe Mimi is SIX YEARS OLD, crazy!! I remember when I came to visit you and you woke her up to meet me. :) I seriously have missed you Jess, you were my only friend from High School I hadn't kept in touch w/ who I really WANTED to. I just love blogs becasue now we can. :)
When is your due date? What are you going to name her? I can't believe you are going to have 4 kiddos!! I am so happy for you and your cute fam. Love ya!!!
I was so excited to find your blog! I went out to breakfast with Leslie Allard last week while in SLC and we were both talking about how we'd love to get caught up with you again. My life is followed ridiculously closely on my blog...Since we last saw each other, I've been divorced and married to someone else...Taylor's a pilot, and we just moved to Detroit last month with my 7-year old Rosie. I actually just found a picture of you and I last night next to the Christus at the St. George temple for Academic Decathalon.
