Happy HEART day

...ours was happy. It started with a specialty breakfast of sprinkled pink icing organic pop tarts. (couldn't bear feeding my kids the real thing.) Then a quick valentines doo with my favorite 'hair accessory with a twist' doing the magic, and off to school to make a killing on valentine goodies. As for me, I spent much of the day with my good friend Noel prepping for a hot and steamy Valentines day party at my house that evening with some other fun couples. We had a terrific time eating sushi and some decadent desserts, laughing and telling stories, and playing uncomfortable, yet oddly enjoyable games. I tried my hand at putting together some flower arrangements for the big night too. They turned out so-so considering that I couldn't afford three dozen roses to work with for the ideal look. Unfortunately baby's breath would have to fill in the gaps where plump, delicious roses should have been. Yuck. Any other ideas on a small budget?

I must mention a sweet thing my adoring Husband did for me the day before the party. He asked me to send him a honey-do email of things he could help with in preparation for the party. I too quickly responded back with a list of things I have secretly wanted him to do for a long long time. You can only imagine how long the list became. His email response read, "do you want me to get this done by next years valentine's day or by tomorrow? crap." He is so self-sacrificing and boy do I love him for it. Friday I started my first official day of bed rest and already friends and ward members have been more than helpful and accomidating to our family. We had a delicious meal brought to us last night.
