My parents just moved to enchanted Bountiful Utah, right at the base of Mueller Park Canyon. They literally moved inside a beautiful winter snow globe. There wasn't a day that passed without a fresh coat of powder on the driveway that each morning My Dad and Luke made their duty to shovel. I think it's amazing that I can be sitting here in Florida comfortable with a low 70's forcast and just states away, Utahns are going on day three of intense blizzards. I remember specifically that when I got on the plane to go to my parents for the holidays, Florida was a balmy 83 degrees. Four hours later, the kids and I arrived for a lay over and heard the Pilot announcing a crisp 11 degrees in Denver. Really quite amazing.

Without adequate snowsuits, (couldn't justify buying any for just three weeks), layers and layers of sweatshirts, jackets, socks, and pajama pants did the job. The kids stayed warm and dry for up to 20 fun filled minutes at a time. They would then come in and sit by the fire for another 30 minutes with bright red noses, fingers, and toes. Not to mention the huge cup of fine hot chocolate Grandma welcomed them in with. Sledding, snowmen, and ATV rides were included in the wintery fun. Luke wasn't all that sure about the steep sledding hill at first, but in no time he warmed right up.

The shark boots were purely for style, not function, yet Luke insisted he wear them on the slopes, in the house, and to bed. I did buy the rain boots in Utah figuring they would come in handy in Florida a time or two. As much as I loved the beauty and sites of the snow and icicles settling on tree limbs and roof tops, I am glad to just visit for a short time and get the idea of it before I freeze completely to the bone. I'm a wuss, (how is that spelled?), I know, Scott reminds me I have no thyroid all the time. It's always nice to come home to the warmth and beauty of the sun though ...it's magnificent too! To my Mother's dismay, I don't think I will ever end up in Utah for this reason. Though we sure love the visits.

Gorgeous pics, Jess. I doubt you're a wuss (that's how I spell it, don't know if it's right). I'd be in with the cocoa, too. How am I going to survive in Utah??
So much fun. We may be coming down to FL. We'll let you know as soon as Dusty finds out about school. It would be in Feb or March. Here we come Disney! Love ya!
Haaaaaaaa! I love it. I LOVE the pic of Lukie holding the snow and his little face fuzzed out. You know how to operate a camera that's for sure. How hilarious that Scott says you don't have a thyroid. I actually don't have a thyroid and I have a hard time with the cold...hmmm. Dr. Law could be right with his synopsis.
Love the pics jess!!!
Ooooh! I love snow pictures. And I'm totally with you, I absolutely love visiting and playing in the snow but am so happy to come home to my SUN!
