I mentioned I had a lot to catch you up on with my absence of posting over the holidays. Still chipping away at it.
A couple of weeks before my Grandmother passed away, my sister, Jana, sat down with her and asked, "If you make it to heaven before I do, will you find a baby for me up there?" Jana has been trying to adopt a baby for a while now and had been unsuccessful. Ironically, as Jana and Nate were traveling home from my Grandmother's burial, they had a distinct feeling to give their adoption agency a call to see if any progress was being made. Moments before their phone call, Vivian, a mother who was giving birth in less than a week, phoned the agency hoping to make things work out for Jana and Nate to be the parents of her unborn child. (They had a bit of a history dealing with Vivian back and forth for a month or so and nothing was working out for multiple reasons.) To make a long and complicated story short, (aren't they always with adoptions?), Noah Nathaniel Lever was born on December 26th, 2007 with Jana and Nate present in the room to meet their new son.
We are all thrilled that everything worked out for them. He is healthy and strong as every boy should be. I've mentioned to Jana several times that she has surely been blessed with an angel baby. She often calls to tell me that she has to wake him after 6 1/2 hours of peacefully sleeping just to feed the boy. He throws down 5 or 6 ounces, then goes back down for another 4. With all of the struggles they faced in getting him here, I think I'll let them believe that behavior is normal at 3 weeks of age! (NONE of my babies ever were so kind to me.) He is charming and handsome, causing them all of the joys and thrills a newborn should. Looks like Grandma hand selected only the best for them, after all, they deserve it.
Best of all, my kids finally have their first cousin. Their excitement and love for Noah is overwhelming as he is still a part of every one of their prayers.

He looks so sweet. And what a great story. I must stop looking, I am getting baby hungry...
I think it's that time of year to be baby hungry :-) I'm SOOOOOOO glad they were blessed with a little baby. So grateful for her. And I'm sure your little babes are going nuts over him! Jana is lucky though...she still has a great shaped bootie and can stay perky...that's a blessing!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-) Congrats to Jana and her sweet hubby.
That is so great! I am so happy for your sister. And can I say how happy I am for your kids... seriously, no one should have to wait until they are 6 to get a cousin. Tell your bros and sis all to get a move on it... actually, I pretty sure you have been to no avail. Anyway, congrats to them!
