a night out with Lady

Katie earned her first official Daddy date this weekend. I think she was fully motivated to earn one after seeing her sister off a few weeks ago. Katie's accomplishment was a blackout of stickers on her behavior card at preschool and chose a date with Daddy as her reward. Lady, (her nickname), is VERY well-behaved at school. Her teacher told me just the other day, "If I could only put Katie into a copy machine and make 17 of her, life would be great!" I hate to go on about her, but Katie lives to please. She has a half-shy, very girly way about her that sucks you in every time. Scott caters his nights out to just the girl he is entertaining. (He is finding himself quit booked on Friday nights.) For Katie, he knew her favorite food was pancakes and favorite activity, being pampered like a princess. This must be universal for a girl at age 4. Their first stop was a fabulous chocolate chip pancake meal at IHOP and then off to her princess DIVA manicure at the salon. Scott told me the entire salon waited on her every princess need. One of the traditions we have on these dates is that the girls can choose whatever they want to wear and also choose what Scott will be wearing. She knew just what her date should wear for the big evening, "his Incredibles T-shirt and a pair of pants" as Lady put it. Scott was thrilled with her choice. As any true princess would say, "Ta-ta" for now, but be sure you stop by for my next most revealing post. I've been told I can't put off being "tagged" any longer. I am ready to tell all.

I haven't stopped by in a while... life seems to be so crazy right now. But I loved all the new reading, especially chapters 15 and 16? Excellent writing Jess! So true, so many of the things we think will make us happy just don't, we can be happy without so much of what we think we need if we want to be. A friend said just the other day to another who's going through a hard time and currently pretty depressed but used to be bubbly bubbly, you'll get through this and realize it feels better to be happy and that's what will come through. Anyway, I need the address to chapter 16 please. Miss you.

Jess! Ok so it is really boring for me at work today so I did a little blog stocking.... I can't even remember how I found yours but I thought I would see if you remembered me from the good ole MHS basketball days. You family is just adorable and it looks like you are enjoying the sunny weather there in Florida.
